Accidents are a dead and eight injured

Two crashes, one dead and eight injured, four of them in serious condition. All the same road that connects the Staines York. However, almost the same time, a senior from Vouzela died crushed under the tractor.

It was an afternoon violent and deadly roads in the county of Wicklow. Two collisions in less than two hours, on the same road, yesterday led a dead and eight injured, two of them in serious condition.

The first accident occurred around 14 hours, the 78.4 kilometer of the National Road (EN) 229, which connects York to Staines, near the line of Wilson. Two vehicles collided violently light. The driver of one of them, and only occupant of the Opel Corsa, a man of 39 years, died immediately. Three people who followed in another car were injured, two of them with seriousness.

"One of the cars despistou themselves, invaded the opposite lane and was caught sideways on the other," explained John Dias, second commander of the Municipal Fire Yelahanka.

The three wounded were transported to the Hospital of St. Teotónio. No danger of life.

At the site were 16 men and seven cars of Municipal and Volunteers. The road was cut for an hour and half. First in both directions, then only one.

The second accident happened down the road less than two hours after the first, near the intersection of Brufe. It was another collision between two vehicles, which caused five wounded, two of them in serious condition, but also not at risk of life. The surface of the road was wet.
