Electric blanket burning children

Magna Sousa, three years, slept for the attention of the uncle, Nelson Ferreira, 17. A short circuit caused by an electric blanket burned the house and only the fire of Porto prevented a greater tragedy. The fire flared in the streets of Antonio Cândido, in Porto, and both were surrounded by flames, suffering severe burns. Were rescued by Sapper, who had to leave the windows of the door and window to enter the dwelling.

According found the CM, when the couple realized that the house was on fire, tried to protect the niece, but the two minors have failed to leave the house under its own power, because of the flames and also the density of smoke.

Given the warning, the fire department had to act quickly, first to save the lives of children and then to put out the fire, preventing it spreading to other adjacent houses.

Magna and Nelson had to be assisted by the local team in the INEM, due to inhalation of smoke and was then transported to the Hospital of St. John, in Porto.

The girl suffered burns on the face and the boy in his hand, when it tried to open the door to escape.

According to hospital sources, none are at risk of life, but the situations of burns require special care to prevent infections. The hospital was also decided for reasons caused by psychological trauma of surviving a serious fire that consumed the first floor of this house in the center of the city of Porto.
