From outside the 12th studio album of U2 will be all subjects recorded with the producer Rick Rubin. At Mojo magazine, the guitarist The Edge has revealed that all the material out of meetings with Rubin was at the party for not fit the sound explored on the new album.

According to The Edge, "In the Line On The Horizon 'is a disc that is divided into two distinct parts:' Half songs are formed from the meetings with Brian [Eno] and Danny [Lano] - things that only play one or two times (...) The other half consists of material that we already have for some time and that went through several versions and incarnations.

"Sounds of a U2 album, but sounds like nothing we have done before, nor anything that is being made now, wrapped up.
