India: MAI on display in Brussels' rejection 'by attacks

The Minister for Internal Administration, Rui Pereira, in Brussels today expressed its "repudiation" by the terrorist attacks Wednesday in Bombay, India, and that caused more than a hundred dead.

The minister also expressed its "solidarity with the victims, people who were injured and the families of the dead and wounded.

Rui Pereira spoke at the exit of a meeting of the Ministers of Interior of the European Union, in which one of the topics discussed was the fight against terrorism.

The Portuguese Government already sentenced today "with firmness" the series of "unjustifiable and violent terrorist attacks" in a message of condolence sent by Foreign Minister Luis Amado, its Indian counterpart.

Amado concludes the message "reiterating the unequivocal support of Portugal to fight against all forms of terrorism".

The President of the Republic, Cavaco Silva, has also condemned the attacks, expressing its "forceful condemnation and rejection" by the "cowardly action" committed in Bombay, in a message of condolence sent today from the Portuguese presidency to the Indian president.
