Acarreira Police is not at all attractive to an agent who is starting in the PSP. The Association of Professional Police warned yesterday that the strengthening of funding that the Ministry of the Interior received by the State Budget for 2009 is not sufficient to improve the PSP.
This is because, says the ASPP, of the 53 additional 25 million are intended to pay rebates to Caixa Geral de retirements - which hitherto were not paid by the PSP. Another 15 million will pay the school ten hundred of new agents that will be formed.
The ASPP says no money for equipment, vehicles, medical support, daily allowance and career progression of the police.
