Simulacrum detects "weaknesses"

The operational commander of the National Civil Protection (ANPC), Gil Martins, admitted Sunday that this was detected some "weaknesses" during the exercise which took place in the districts of Lisbon, Santarem and Setubal.

"Over the last three days and learned some shortcomings were found," said Gil Martins. Among the "weaknesses detected" are failures in communication and management of information, but yet apontou the controller, without providing details, gaps in the commitment of some entities in theaters of operation.

However, Gil Martins stressed that "the exercise was not built to run well, but to detect the flaws and weaknesses."

At the end of the year, the controller has a positive balance, having been given "a decisive step in learning." "If there were an earthquake tomorrow we better prepared than in the days of yesterday," said Gil Martins.
