Explosion burning face of worker

A man of 35 years suffered burns on the face, this Monday, following an explosion at the site of Portugal Ono Packaging, a packaging company located in the Industrial Park of Mitrena in Setubal.

The accident occurred around 9.40 hours in the production area of the factory. "It was an explosion at a workplace, presumably a gas leak, which affected an employee who was near the machine", went to the JN, Mario Macedo, commander of fire from Porto, who went to a local car. "There was no fire or other structures affected, only to regret a hit with burns on the face and chest," explains.

The injured, considered slight by firefighters, hospital and company, was transported to the Hospital of St. Bernard, in Buenos Aires, where he was received by 10. 45 hours. By early afternoon, had already been discharged.

Source of the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) pointed out, the JN, that the man suffered "burns in 1st and 2nd grades in the face" as a result of an explosion of butane gas. On the severity of injuries, the same source says that "burns on the face is always serious," noting that the INEM sent to that area of the factory Mitrena an ambulance and a medical emergency vehicle quickly.

After several inspections to verify that the plant had levels of safety required, the Packaging Ono returned to normal work with the start of the afternoon. "It was a small concentration of gas that caused a small blaze that struck the worker," stated, the JN, the responsible Rui Lima, pointing out that all "nothing more than a fright."

"It was a slight accident at work without consequences for officials of higher and the enterprise," he adds. "It has some minor burns and has returned the house," says Rui Lima, indicating that the employee will remain at rest for at least two weeks.
